Okay, so here's what I'm thinking. We always play the same crap over and over, to the point where it gets boring as hell. It happened with Parasite, it's started to happen with Dark Deeds, and past that, there just isn't really anything with the same spark that stays entertaining, past AoS-style games and TDs. And the occasional RPG.
We need something new in SWWT. Whether it's a new map that someone finds, or if it's something that we make, we need SOMETHING with the same spark, something to keep us alive.
This brings me to my point. Does anyone know the game Mafia (if you know how to play Mafia, skip a little further down)? In Mafia, there are a set number of mafia members, a police officer, and a doctor. Everyone else is an ordinary townsperson. The mafias have to kill everyone else, and everyone else wants to kill the mafias. People's identities are unknown, and the turns proceed as follows
1. Night - Everyone closes their eyes. The mafias open their eyes. They point at whom they want to kill. They close their eyes. The doctor opens his/her eyes and points at whom he thinks the mafias killed. If he is right, that person does not die. If he is wrong, they die in the morning. The doctor closes his/her eyes, and the police officer takes his/her turn. The police officer must decide who is in the mafia and picks that person. If correct, the mafia member dies. If incorrect, nothing happens. The police officer opens his/her eyes.
2. Morning - Everyone who is supposed to die dies. If someone was saved, it is announced that they were to die but was saved. Everyone votes who they think is in the mafia.
The games continues like this until one side wins. If you don't understand, there's a private test version that Ancanus made at one point.
Anyway, here's what I'm thinking. Mafia by itself is pretty boring and random. Sure it can be fun, but the whole thing is based around guessing. So why not make a map that's like Parasite/Murder at the Mansion but also similar to Mafia? Maybe if the mafia member is picked for execution in the morning, he has a chance to fight back, maybe run away and hide?
I also had another map idea a while back, kind of similar to this. One player is known to be the king and lives in his castle all happy-like. Everyone else lives in the village and is, of course, a villager. But some of the villagers are unhappy with the king, and at night, they can become rebels. There's a secret entrance into the castle, and it contains puzzles (which could be generated randomly from a list, hopefully, so that each game would be different). At night, they try to solve these puzzles, but by day they are normal citizens. Their goal? Kill the king.
I'm not sure what would happen during the day, but we're smart people. Also perhaps this game could have an auto-remake feature... When the king dies, one of the rebels becomes king, and the former king respawns as a villager.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. 1-2 players will be the king's guards. So if there are 3 rebels, 1 becomes king, and 2 become guards.
Let me know what you guys think about all this.
